Jessy Dubé, violin
Hailing from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, Jessy Dubé started her musical career at the Conservatoire de Musique de Saguenay, Quebec, and pursued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Basel, in Switzerland. Since then she had held the position of concert master of the Orchestre de la Francophonie with whom she toured in South America and with Chamber Music Basel she toured in Europe and Israel.
Her interest in early music inspired her to participate in workshops with Tafelmusik in Toronto and with Sigiswald Kuijken at the Petite Bande Summer Academy in Belgium. Jessy plays regularly with the Arion Baroque Orchestra and L’Harmonie des Saisons in Montreal. A new passion for the viol was inspired by a project initiated by Les Voix humaines and supported by the Quebec Arts Council to teach professional string players how to play the viol. She recently received a foundation scholarship to continue studying the viol with Mélisande Corriveau.
